A bride’s account of the Zorgvliet Portfolio
I was looking for an
intimate wedding venue with just the right kind of feeling for my wedding day and I discovered the Zorgvliet Portfolio. What set this brand apart from all the others was that it was so luxurious in its offerings and promised me a special experience. I had so much to choose from – it took a while to decide which Zorgvliet Portfolio
wedding venue was the one I wanted. Just to make sure I had chosen wisely I decided to visit all three destinations beforehand. First I went to Riviera on Vaal Hotel & Country Club, then to Ka’Ingo Private Reserve & Spa and ended with Zorgvliet Vineyard Lodge & Spa.
Getting married on the banks of the Vaal River?
When I first walked into the Riviera on Vaal Hotel & Country Club I immediately felt the grandness of the place. Class and sophistication seemed to coat every corner of this Hotel so elegantly furnished. The River views present the perfect back drop – I could already imagine myself saying my vows in the open air so close to this wonder of nature. The chapel next to the River is so charming and the thought of having my reception aboard the Petit Verdot Floating Restaurant was very tempting! The boat was
intimate and was the perfect
venue for my special
wedding. The welcoming rooms, lovely restaurants, indulgent Zorgvliet Spa and the 18 hole golf course – I could get married here and make this
venue my permanent restoration location. Still, I had Ka’Ingo Private Reserve & Spa to embark on next.
Getting married in the bushveld?
Being a nature lover I immediately fell in love with Ka’Ingo Private Reserve & Spa. The combination of luxury and nature is clearly evident here. Although you get to experience the bush in its untamed state there are enough modern comforts creating just the right balance. Exclusivity was a term well mastered at this big 5 game lodge – I was told I could book the entire
venue for my
intimate wedding. I also had the option of celebrating my big day under the African skies or in a Marquee set up in the beautiful gardens at Main lodge, in the heart of the bush – surrounded by the Big 5. Other options available included: the Main Lodge reception, at the Main Lodge restaurant, at the Main lodge swimming deck.
Getting married in the winelands?
The views of the winelands were awe-inspiring and amidst this beautiful atmosphere lay Zorgvliet Vineyard Lodge & Spa. From every angle you are greeted by the greenery of the vineyards or the majesty of the Simonsberg Mountain. There was a selection of
intimate wedding venues on the Zorgvliet Wine Estate to choose from, each with its own unique disposition. The special touches I enjoyed for my wedding included superb catering, fine Zorgvliet wine, 5 star accommodation and transport for my bridal party. There were so many activities to indulge in such as wine tasting, cellar tours and the Zorgvliet Spa.
I must say one thing that was consistent at all three of Zorgvliet Portfolio’s
intimate wedding venues was the thoughtfulness of the wedding coordinators with their attention to detail and accommodation of my individual needs – making me the happiest bride.
So which of the Zorgvliet Portfolio
intimate wedding venues did I choose? All of them, – Zorgvliet Vineyard Lodge & Spa for my wedding, Ka’Ingo Private Reserve & Spa for my honeymoon and Riviera on Vaal Hotel & Country Club for my first anniversary.
