Discerning travelers taking the route less travelled over the Helshoogte Pass will soon delight in the Banhoek Valley nestled between the Simonsberg and Drakenstein Mountain ranges. It is here where the travelers come to rest at the Le Pommier Country Lodge.
As much a part of the historical developments in the region as the Zorgvliet Wine Estate, Le Pommier Country Lodge offers its guests awe-inspiring views of the majestic mountain ranges. Luxury accommodation amongst rolling vineyards which characterize the Zorgvliet Wine Estate is offered by the prestigious country lodge.
It derived its name from the apple orchards which once covered the area where Le Pommier Country Lodge stands today. The current estate was bought by the Zorgvliet Portfolio in 2002 and has since then reached international status for its quality wines. It also boasts a state of the art wine cellar which was named the best wine cellar in South Africa in 2005.
The very intimate Le Pommier offers six secluded and stylishly furnished suites. The conference facility is fully equipped. The striking venue seats 100 delegates or guests for year-end functions, weddings or conferences. Knowing how important the media is for many of our guests an eight channel satellite TV is provided.
Apart from the luxuries offered through accommodation the country lodge also offers laundry services, secure shaded vehicle parking and a restaurant that is famed for its cuisine and warm ambience. The Le Pommier restaurant is housed in a national monument and being on the apple orchard part of the 180 hectares wine farm it still holds some magic.
As apples have been associated with temptation throughout the years, it is just fitting for a restaurant to be built upon an apple orchard. True to its name, the restaurant offers delectable meals which will tempt your taste buds to explore the secrets of the cuisine on offer.
The beautiful, tastefully decorated restaurant with its undertone of natural colours and elegant table settings invite patrons to stay a bit longer. Several smaller rooms, each with a fireplace which enhances the intimacy of the venues are ideal for small functions.
Scrumptious breakfasts are served on the shaded veranda bordered by a bright lavender and rose garden. Children playing on the outdoor equipment and scenic views of the mountains, remind you of the tranquillity of days gone by while you indulge in the range of tastes offered by the fruit skewers with Muesli Biscotti and natural yoghurt.
A guided tour through the Zorgvliet wine cellar is just one of many activities to be enjoyed on the wine farm. Jogging, mountain hikes, and lazy afternoons around the swimming pool ensure that you never get tired of this beautiful wine farm.
Join us during the winter for cosy fires, warm puddings, and deep red wines while you enjoy the view of snow capped mountains. Visit during the lush green summer times for mountain picnics and leisure vineyard strolls. Whenever you decide, we are always ready to receive guests and spoil them in the comforts offered by the Le Pommier Country Lodge.
