The Zorgvliet Portfolio was established in 2002 when businessman Mac van der Merwe, bought the Zorgvliet Wine Estate in the heart of the Cape wine land region near Stellenbosch. The historic farm with its stately manor, the Herenhuis, now completely restored to a restaurant, dates back to 1692 and is located in the legendary Banghoek Valley.
The Ka’Ingo Reserve & Spa is yet another one of the top eco-tourist destinations that forms part of the Zorgvliet Portfolio. The Reserve lends itself to opulence, style, and array of facilities and excellent game viewing opportunities in the Waterberg biosphere.
The luxurious Riviera on Vaal Hotel joined the ranks of the Zorgvliet Portfolio at the end of 2003, adding more plush accommodation to the Zorgvliet Portfolio. The Riviera Country Club was added in May 2005 offering excellent golfing for South African and International golfers next to the majestic Vaal River at Vereeniging.
The Zorgvliet Portfolio now also own the majority shares in the Garden Route hotel, King George, known for its old fashioned service and classical Victorian styled accommodation.
With the acquisition of the Sure Zorgvliet Travel Agency in 2004, it marked the start of a new era in South African travel experiences. The award winning Sure Zorgvliet Agency provides an array of travel services for local and international travelers.
The Zorgvliet Property Developments division recently launched the first fractional and full title Bushveld property development in South Africa, offering investors and property owners, the opportunity to own a piece of Africa in luscious surroundings and with access to game viewing and the facilities of the Ka’Ingo Reserve & Spa.
The Zorgvliet Portfolio is completed by its international travel presence through the multi-award winning St. Andrews Travel Agency in England.
